advertise a free or paid service. Please visit
this page for sponsorship details. We may not accept posts written on behalf of your
company or client except you agree it’s a sponsored post.

    Guidelines:

    DISCLAIMER
I understand the work that it takes to write a blog post. However, the fact that you have written a post and submitted it to me does not obligate me to publish it. The only guest posts I will publish are those that in my sole judgment add value to my readers.
Furthermore, if I do not approve your guest post, I will not explain why I did not approve it or provide any detail. Frankly, that would take more time than I can afford.

How To Configure Gmail Sms To work on your Phone

  • September 4, 2012
  • Don ZikkO

  • Google has launched Gmail SMS, a free email solution which allows mobile phone users in Nigeria and Ghana and Kenya to send and receive emails without  internet connection. The service works on any phone including basic phones that only support voice and SMS.

If you activate GMail SMS, the service automatically forwards your e-mails as SMS text messages to your phone. You can respond to the e-mails by responding directly to the SMS. You can control the emails received by replying with commands such as MORE, PAUSE and RESUME.
Additionally, compose a new email as an SMS and send to any email address recipient â who will find your message in the right email conversation thread.â

How To Set Up/Active Gmail SMS

    1. Click the small arrow beside your avatar at the top right hand corner of your Gmail web browser and click on on âAccountâ.

    2. In the “Phone and SMS” section, click âOpen SMS settingsâ.

    3. Enter the phone number where you would like to receive your emails

    4. Click  the “Send Code” button. A code will be sent to your phone.

    5. Enter the verification code sent to your phone as an SMS in the provided box.

    6. Select to have emails forwarded to your phone.
    That’s all.
Note: SMS is less secure and may be less reliable than web-based communication. All messages sent by SMS are sent via your mobile operator’s network without encryption.

  • September 1, 2012
  • Don ZikkO
  • Configuring an htc mobile phone for the internet is different from the way we configure our normal symbian/java phones.
With the steps below, you should be able to do it without stress:

    First click start>> goto settings>>connection>>option>>new/edit
    Name-use anything
    Access point- web.grps.mtnnigeria.net
    Ip-10.199.212.2
    Username: web
    password: web
Home/host: mtnonline.com(thats if it cant contain www)
    Tick advanced
    Http ip: 10.199.212.2
    Port: 8080
    Socket ip: 10.199.212.2
    port: 1080
    shtml ip: same as socket
    wap: 10.199.212.2
    port: 9201> next
    shared ip: 10.199.212.2
port: 8080> tick TCP and use the same ip
    save and activate.
Goto settings > something like network or gprs connection
USE CHAP 16 or PAP 8( try both to see which one your phone adapts to)
But etisalat uses PAP 8 (with all together different settings than the one above)
